This weight cut has been absolutely brutal. Probably one of the most challenging I have ever had. My body hates me and standing on the scales in just my underpants waiting for the guy to read the official weight does nothing but make me even more unsteady on my feet. My mind is foggy. I don't remember how I got from my home to the hotel. All I know is, standing to the side of me is my team. And a bottle of water that I am desperate to drink.

I always thought that those people were exaggerating when they say that in the desert, you can be so dehydrated that you start to see things that aren't there but as I stare blankly into the media pit and the crowd of fans, I swear I spot Lexi's face. Her beautiful sky-blue eyes staring back at me as her long blonde waves cascade over her shoulders. But in one blink and she's gone.

Of course she's not really here. I saw the look of horror on her face this morning when she came to visit me. The hurt and disgust as she eyed me up and down before running out of there as if the place was on fire. I have always tried to keep her away from my weight cuts, never wanting her to view me as anything but the strong, powerful man she fell in love with. I was desperate to protect her from seeing me so weak, and in so much pain pushing my body to within an inch of what it is humanly capable of. And once again trying to protect her has pushed us even further apart.

"One hundred and seventy pounds!" The man crouched in front of me bellows at the officials.

I did it! I fucking did it!

Flexing my muscles for the photographers, my body shakes violently. Feeling myself stumble, I take a step back off the scales, trying to steady myself and then everything fades to black.

As I blink the world back into a blurred focus, all I see is faces staring down at me. The sound of chaos all around. I blink again, my vision blurring once more before everything disappears yet again.
